What we do

Maite specialises in giving a new lease of life to furniture which could otherwise be considered past its best. Each piece is initially prepared and made good, and then lovingly hand-painted, using environmentally-friendly, chalk-based paints.

Every item is unique, not just in terms of the high-quality finish and attention to detail, but also because it’s a one-off to start with. Maite starts with something that’s looking a little old, neglected, or just no longer in fashion, and then uses her creative vision to transform it and bring out the ‘soul’ of that particular piece.

Her style ranges from classic French rustic to Swedish elegance to a cool, retro look– all with a unique, Maite Alegre feel.

Maite takes on commissions for painting furniture, as well as sourcing a particular style of furniture on a client’s behalf.

She is passionate about up-cycling furniture in a creative way to produce something beautiful and practical for your home, something you can treasure for generations.
